Flower Arrangement Lesson & Tea Ceremony Experience
華道教室・茶道体験
Flower Arrangements by Our Master Instructor
We are pleased to offer our guests a Japanese flower arrangement, IKEBANA, lesson. The lesson will be taught by Ms. Satake, a Licensed Master Instructor of Flower Arrangement.
The word "IKEBANA" means "Living Flowers". However, a lesson with real or artificial flowers is available at Gion Kyuraku. If a lesson with artificial flower arrangement is chosen, the guests can take home the flower arrangements.
Japanese flower arrangement, also known as IKEBANA, is a traditional art form that emphasizes simplicity, minimalism, and the natural beauty of flowers and other plant materials.
Unlike Western Flower Arrangement, IKEBANA focuses on creating a harmonious composition that highlights the relationship between the flowers, the vase, and the surrounding space. IKEBANA often uses a limited number of flowers and foliage arranged in deliberate, asymmetrical way that creates a sense of movement and balance.
IKEBANA is a beautiful and meditative practice that encourages us to slow down, appreciate the natural world, and find beauty in simplicity.

Tea Ceremony Experience & Tea Making
Simplified Tea Ceremony Experience is also available for our guests at Gion Kyuraku.
The tea ceremony, also known as SADO, is a traditional Japanese cultural practice that involves the ceremonial preparation and serving of green tea to guests.
The tea ceremony is typically performed by a trained tea master, who has spent years perfecting the art of the ceremony. Guests are expected to observe strict etiquette, including the way they serve tea and how they sit.
Participating in a tea ceremony can be a meditative and calming experience, as guests are encouraged to focus their attention on the present moment and the sensory experience of drinking the tea. The tea ceremony has become an important part of Japanese culture and is often used to mark important events or to welcome guests. It is also practiced in other parts of the world as a way to connect with Japanese culture and promote mindfulness.
