“Ono Gasumi” is a mystical morning mist that appears in the
Ohara Basin of Kyoto during winter. Formed by the unique temperature differences of this mountain-ringed valley, the mist drifts along the mountainsides like a great serpent—giving rise to its poetic name.
This gentle veil of fog also helps nurture Ohara’s flavorful vegetables and its renowned red shiso.
